Mentor
The definition of mentor is a: a trusted counselor or guide b: tutor , coach.
Do you have a mentor? Have you really ever thought about having a mentor? I have been in several relationship which have been mentor relationship. Some of them were formal and others evolved into a mentor relationship. My mentors over they years have been changed, as I have changed and as my needs have changed.
I had a mentor, who was my boss, when I was young in my career. I learned about managing people, getting superior results and using numbers to tell a story in business.
I had a mentor, who was a wife for 20 years, when I was a young wife.
I had a mentor, who was a mother of four, when I was a young mother. I learned the benefits of breast feeding, how to make baby food from people food, and so much more about the love only a mother can have for her child.
I had a mentor, who had gone to school as a non-traditional student and completed her master’s degree, when I returned to school for my MBA.
I had a mentor, who dressed for success, when I wanted to learn reflect my style in my fashion.
I had a mentor, who had adult children that survived the teenage years, when I was experiencing teenage children for the first time.
I had a mentor, who was dedicated to her faith, when I was growing in my faith.
We all need mentors in our lives. A mentor is someone who has been there and done that. My mentors have been able to guide me, counsel me, coach me and inspire me as I learn new things in my life.
Think about the many people who have been your mentors over the years. Let them know how they have blessed your life
Blessings
