April 28 - Overcome evil with Good

Tonight, I someone did something to me that was not very nice. I wrote my blessing for the night about the event that took place. It felt good to write about it, but after it was completed, I then decided that I needed to pray, wait and pray a little more, before sending out the Blessings that I wrote.

So, what to write? I flipped open one of my resources and read Romans 12:17–21.

17Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. 18If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay,"[
d]says the Lord. 20On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."[e] 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. ~Romans 12: 17 – 21

After reading this scripture, I am so glad that I decided to wait to send out my original Blessings about the events of the evening. I have a lot to think about. Originally, I thought I would do nothing, but pray for the person that did this to me. Now after reading the scripture, I think I need to cook for them and bring her a bottle of wine.

Overcome evil with good!
